Tea & Talk Series - Haircare & Healing (POSTPONED)

Join us for our annual series of informal topical conversations with the women of The Standard! These virtual talks typically center on specific themes but often evolve into wonderful opportunities to share a range of topics and simply hold communal space for each other as Black women at Princeton. Through our Tea & Talks Series last year, we found that students were eager to have more of these “breathing spaces,” and hope our new crop of panelists can help us create similar experiences this year!

For our second session: Haircare & Healing, we hope to have a panel of 4-5 women who can lead discussions around loving Black hair. Stay tuned for more updates as the event is finalized!

Wellness Weekend - Outdoor Yoga w/ Dean Theresa S. Thames

Please join us for a two-part offering that includes outdoor accessible slow flow yoga practice and personal reflections. Accessible slow flow is exactly that – accessible for EVERY body and intentionally slow. We will hold postures, breathe, adjust, and be in our bodies. Dean Thames invites you to begin the day doing whatever is necessary to make space (mentally and physically) to be fully present on the mat. If you have an injury or if there is anything else you would like Dean Thames to know regarding your practice, please send her an email at tthames@princeton.edu.

Join us for our annual series of informal topical conversations with the women of The Standard! For our first session: Wellness in the Workplace we invite you to join our panelists as they share insights on sustaining personal wellness in various professional environments. Black Girl Pods - Virtual Intros

The Black Girl Pods (BGP) are back and we are excited to provide several different ways to engage this year! Our hope is to facilitate continued engagement with past alumnae conveners and afford greater flexibility for the entire BGP membership through our range of offerings — Zoom, in-person, and hybrid. As you all embark on the upcoming Fall Break, we encourage you to check your email for your pod details and introduce yourselves to each other virtually You can also use the break to coordinate pod schedules and consider your first official pod meet-up during the period immediately following Fall Break. Enjoy the BGP this term and not hesitate to reach out if you need additional support!
