The Standard 2022-23 Executive Board

Internal Communications Coordinator

Hey everyone! I’m Nannette Beckley, a senior majoring in the School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA) and pursuing a certificate in Global Health and Health Policy (GHP). I joined The Standard in the late summer of 2020 to enhance my wellness and interact with other Black ladies at Princeton during the peak of the pandemic. Last year, I served as the student liaison. I am currently the Internal Communications Coordinator, leading outreach efforts between the executive board, members, and other black organizations on campus. Outside of the Standard, I am an Advising Fellow for Matriculate, involved with the Body Divine Show Podcast, and work at Mendel Library. During my free time, I love to swim, cook, and binge-watch various Netflix shows (right now, I’m obsessed with Blood & Water and Manifest)!

Director of Marketing & Media

Hello everyone! I’m Kutorkor Kotey, class of ‘24, majoring in Sociology. I joined The Standard during the summer of 2022 to interact with other Black women at Princeton and help create a welcoming space for Black women as they matriculate into Princeton.

As the person in charge of media and marketing, I work on maintaining the Standard’s digital presence through programming and refining our website and our brand’s logo.

On Campus, I am on the leadership board for TruThursday, a Black Christian group on campus. I also work at the Marquand library. I enjoy eating, reading, and watching various dramas/movies during my free time.

Rahma Elsheikh ‘25

Budget Manager

Hi! I’m Rahma Elsheikh, class of ‘25. I’m still deciding on a major between math and COS. I initially joined The Standard last year to grow meaningful relationships with other students on campus and was able to make great friendships. As a part of The Standard board, I will be the budget manager, and I am so excited to work alongside amazing people! Outside of The Standard, I’m also involved with the BSU board. I’m thrilled to be a part of such a great community.

Mary Sowell ‘26

Student Liaison

I am Mary Sowell, class of 2026. I am still deciding between Politics and SPIA for my major. I joined The Standard this semester to be a part of a community of Black women and feel that sense of belonging and culture as well as spred that feeling to many other Black women at Princeton. As a part of The Standard, I am the Student Liaison and will be communicating all information and events from the board to you all! As well as supporting all of you! During my free time, I love to watch TV, eat, travel, and dance!
